"The thing I like about Kate Negus bridles are that they are totally 'mix and match' so that the finished bridle fits the horse rather than the horse fitting the bridle!"

I started competing in 1990 when I rode for the Lawrence David Event Team. In my first year I won the Junior National Championships at Windsor & went on to get a team Silver medal in Vittel in France in the Junior Europeans. I had a successful junior & young rider career & competed in my first 4* at Burghley in 1994 completing with a double clear & coming 20th.

I left the Lawrence David Event Team in 1995 & spent 2 years in Hong Kong working for the Hong Kong Jockey Club retraining ex racehorses.

After returning from Hong Kong in 1997. I bumped into Richard Walker who said a good friend of his was looking for a stable jockey who was Vin Jones of Preci Spark Event Horses & that is where I still am to this day!

I had my first senior call up in 1994 for the Athens Olympics, but unfortunately my horse, The Wexford Lady sustained a minor injury the day before the start of the competition which was heart breaking, but we kept fighting on & I feel I have the best horse now I have ever had in the homebred Treason who I have no doubt will be a 4* winner & a medal winner! He had some fantastic results throughout his whole career & just gets better & better. Watch this space!

I have no relevant equestrian qualifications or otherwise! I got my Pony Club B  test many many years ago! I have no plans yet to get any as I  feel I can help people with the knowledge gained from all the help people have given me over the years.

Treason is on the Equine Pathway, I came up through the lottery funding when it first started back many years ago & went onto the Elite squad at the end off 2003, but then lost that funding in 2009. I feel Treason is a good enough horse to get us back onto that funding soon.

My plans for 2014- well, after a wet winter where we have been fortunate to be selected back onto the World Class Performance programme, we have had lots of training days and all the horses have benefitted hugely from it.

My no. 1 horse Treason (12) is on great form & has his first run in the Open Intermediate at Oasby, then he'll be aiming for Belton CIC3* & Burnham Market CIC3* before heading to Badminton.

My Intermediate horse Treblare (Brian 9) will be heading to Oasby open novice , then the intermediate at Belton & Burnham Market, then the CIC2* at Rockingham.

Tresoke (Nancy 7) which is a new ride for me after our stable jockey Samantha Hobbs has done a great job producing her, will be doing her first competition this season at Oasby in the BE100 open. Then the same at Swalcliffe, she will then go Novice at Sapey &  find another novice before Rockingham CIC1*

Tretawn (Mimms 6) who was 4th in the BYEH final at Burghley last year will be heading to Oasby BE 100, then the same at Swalcliffe, she will then do her first Novice at Sapey. Then if all goes well she'll do the novice at Rockingham.

I also have a lovely 4 year old by Chilli Morning who'll hopefully be making an appearance in some YEH classes later on in the year.
